Whale and dolphin watching

It is a once in a lifetime experience to observe these magnificent creatures up close in their natural habitat.

In the west of Tenerife, pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins can be seen all year round. The stretch between Tenerife and the island of La Gomera is home to around 30 dolphin species. It's also common to spot the smaller inhabitants of the Canary Islands like flying fishes and sea turtles.

Boats are not allowed closer than 10 metres, but curious animals will swim to the boat themselves, so you can get up close look of them.
It is important that the boats respect the animals' habitat and do not disturb them with their engine noise or chasing them, so it is worth choosing a company that organises tours with a smaller boat.
