La Gomerra, the little island of natural wonders where Columbus landed.
The main attraction of this small volcanic island off Tenerife is the Garajonay National Park, which is covered in ancient laurel forest. The island is also a fascinating site in terms of its natural and cultural heritage, as shown by the Gomerra whistle language, a distinctive method of communication dating back to pre-Spanish times, invented by the inhabitants of the island to exchange messages between neighbouring settlements.

Travelling to La Gomerra
The island can be reached individually by boat from the port of Los Cristianos (takes around 40 minutes) or with an organised tour.
