Anaga, the rainforest of Tenerife

The Anaga National Park is a mountain in the north-eastern part of Tenerife where you can experience the jungle environment. Its cloud-covered laurel forests, huge ferns and varied terrain make it a paradise for hikers.

Most hikes start from the visitor centre of Cruz del Carmen, and as you head deeper into the forest, the scenery becomes quieter and quieter, and the dense vegetation on the way makes you forget about the outside world. The mountain range is often shrouded in cloud and the misty roads make this place even more mystical.

Due to the high humidity, the vegetation is very rich all year round, with mosses, laurel trees, aloe vera and cacti everywhere. You can even see ferns up to 30 metres high, which often make you think you are wandering in the Brazilian rainforest.
